Helena has been elected by fellow MPs to sit on the House of Commons Select Committee for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Select Committees are made up of a specialised cross-party group of MPs who have a particular expertise on a topic.
They examine specific issues and hear evidence from experts and the public to make policies better for everyone.
This particular committee will cover many of the issues we face in Hastings, Rye and the villages, from flooding to fishing to farming, and holding Southern Water to account for their many failings in the area.
Helena will join other MPs from around the country and is requesting that, if you live in the area and are able to offer expert knowledge, you get in touch with her at: helena.dollimore.mp@parliament.uk or call on 01424 424125
