Southern Water Compensation: Hastings Water Outage May 2024

In February, the CEO of Southern Water finally agreed to pay compensation to people in Hastings, who were left without water for days on end in May 2024 after I challenged him in Parliament.

If you lost water for 12+ hours during this outage then your household should be entitled to £50 per 12 hours.

Southern Water is going to be writing to everyone who they believe is eligible for compensation. If you don’t hear from them by 22nd March 2025 (letters may take time to arrive in post) then please contact Southern Water at:  customeraccounts@southernwater.co.uk to question this.

As your MP I will take up your case if you lost water for 12+ hours and aren’t getting compensation from them, or aren’t getting the £50 per 12 hours. If you think you are not getting the compensation you are eligible for, please get in contact with me by filling out the form below.
